flicking web pages!!!

Hi im new here so sorry if you have already answered this!

I made a web site in Dreamweaver but when viewing it in my browser the pages flick/blink when i click on the nav bar to go to new page. It’s almost as if there is too much info for it to get and load, but the images are really small and it is happening when i have already viewed the pages before so the info should still be in the cache and shouldnt have to upload every time should it? Oh someone please help!?!

@Stephen_PhilbinJul 05.2006 — It sounds a bit like a problem I had quite some time ago with Firefox. All I can remember about it though is that it seemed to be caused by floating elements. Dunno whether it is the same thing or not though 'cause you didn't post a link, but it sounds like it. I couldn't find a fix though, and so had to redo the whole design.

@KDLAJul 05.2006 — I've had that problem, too. IE hated my usage of negative margins for the floated items. I had to redesign to eliminate those negative coordinates. The flickering stopped after that.

@LexiferJul 06.2006 — I'm not sure if this is the same problem, but I had a website where the nav images flickered whenever you ran the mouse over them in IE. When I googled it I found that other had encountered the problem and it had to do with a setting in IE (Internet Options -> Temporary Internet Files -> Settings... -> Check for newer versions of stored pages: Every visit to the page). As this is not the default setting, most people will not encounter the flickering on your site.
