Could any one help me with some script or example code to encode the letters entered in a form field?!!!

like a field to capture the name “John Alexander Bell” an in other field displays something like “JEIMVD547” 7 characters lenght upperc.
this is for generate a unique key, associated with a suscription.

Im not a real programmer… designer actually… that`s why this kind of codes makes me some headache!

A few questions that might be helpful to answer:

Does the user ever have to use the code?

Is it for a login or something?

Does it [i]have[/i] to be only 7 character long?

(I really think we just need a more in-depth explaination of what this code is used for)

the code key is for print some document after filling the form..

the procces is this..

the user fills the form..

send this info to a database...

the code key is generated in a "hidden field" based on the "Client Name" field

the business db admin can retrive this code making some query...

then the user make a call to obtain this code from the business (lawyers firm)

and later the user, use some page to put the key and print some document, related and based on the previously captured info...

yes is a kind of messy... but requirements are too!!!!
