@CytaelJun 18.2006 — #why not just make google do it for you?
@netbuddyJun 18.2006 — #Bewarned though, the google engine, whilst very good, has its issues and having tried using it myself, I gave up on it as it was more bother than it was worth, it does not work 100% of the time and some sites show up as blank pages.
Im not saying that your experience will be the same, IM saying be aware that you may encounter problems with certain methods of page production, Flash sites tend to pose problems with it.
@carmenprincipeauthorJun 18.2006 — #Yep, anyway the addy that Cytael gave me I try it for 5 hours and it won't work, it shows a message script error do you want to continue running the script yes or no.
so Im where I start. and I know there is a script, a java script for it but I don't found it.
@phpnoviceJun 18.2006 — #JavaScript cannot translate your pages for you. The only thing JavaScript can do is redirect based on a language preference specification -- but this is better done by server-side code in case JavaScript might be disabled.
So Im done, cause geocities only accept HTML and Java, for the use of one of those others I must get a premium account. Hummmm But I will try, I then search for other code instead for Java script? and it would work for languaje preference. oh, if I found one, do I have to write the code for the 4 major languajes one by one or in the same format I wrote the languajes preferences. Is that understood. or I lost you.
I try again last night with the one that Cytael gave me, It does not gave an error this time, but there is nothing in the page and I pass the mouse over the top of the page and it changes to a hand, I click it and the page opens in french, so I put a graphic to try it and I click in the graphic and nothings happens . I have to highlight about six lines fronm the top of the page until almost the middle it highlight a blank space and it shows there are 5 small lines, (looks like four spaces highlighted, simulating I think 4 icons. and I click in each one and the 5 gets to the page of googles but in french. no more languajes. I'll start my search .

JavaScript can perform the redirect for a language preference -- but, you would have to supply the languages as separate pages that are pre-translations of some sort.
@carmenprincipeauthorJun 19.2006 — #Ok, I will try it, if I found it , then I will have about a week making 5 pages, oh, could I right the same code in the pages but only change the language?
Im guessing. I only have 5 month in the world of web sites. lol
If Im asking too much, plese let me know. Is just that I want to fully understand what you and others tell me. so I don't bother too much lol
@phpnoviceJun 19.2006 — #Ok, ... I will have about a week making 5 pages, oh, could I right the same code in the pages but only change the language?
Not if you're working with only basic tools. With only basic tools, you will have to physically create each page in a different language. Using more advanced tools, a Content Management System (CMS) could be used -- which would allow you to create a single template page which could display any of several languages in the same page by language preference specification.
Ok, I got it. and I was thinking using css, but I wasn't sure if the pages can have different formats. but I suppost that the DOCTYPE and the META they all should be the same right? I only change the content under the body. mhhhhhhh. I'll try that.
thanks for taking part of your busy time to answer and read my message.
