Popup Menu Works – Once, and never again.

Ok, please bare with me because there are so many issues to search on and I am still having problems.

I created a webpage in Dreamweaver, along with creating popup menus.
When you select a menu item in the menu frame, it calls the popup to show in the content frame…that part I have figured out.. as I cut and pasted lines of code and moved around some javascript so that the popup menu actually works… but the problem is it only works one time only! after you make the selection, the menu rollovers will light up but nothing shows.

I even copied and pasted the content.htm and renamed it as if it were one of the menu items in an attempt to make the menu show.. but it is not working!

Thanks for any help you can give (semi-newb)

@phpnoviceJun 15.2006 — Did you check for error messages? Keep in mind that these don't always popup in front of your face so that it is obvious they are there. Different browsers have different methods for storing these error messages.

@unscathedauthorJun 15.2006 — I use IE/FIREFox and I am now downloading Netcrap Navigator, but alas.. i do not know how to find those error codes if any.

Did you checkout WWW.ROBBDELANEY.COM and see if you got any?

Tools / JavaScript Console

@unscathedauthorJun 15.2006 — Getting: mmLoadMenus is not defined

<script language="JavaScript1.2">mmLoadMenus();</script>

Additionally some other errors saying parent.content.MM_showMenu is not a function.

mind you I am still a newbe..

@phpnoviceJun 15.2006 — Can't help you fix those error messages. They are basically telling you that those functions do not exist. Since they are Macromedia functions, and I have absolutely no exposure to DreamWeaver at all, you're pretty much on your own. However, I'll also tell you that you have to fix error messages one at a time (starting with the very first) -- because one error message can cause subsequent error messages that otherwise would not occur without the first error message having come, well, first. ?

One example is that an error within a particular function can subsequently cause an error that says that particular function does not exist at all. ?

@unscathedauthorJun 16.2006 — Ok.. here is the exact way I was doing it.. aside from creating the pop-up menu from dreamweaver, it is pretty basic. All it did is create basic Javascript menus.. nothing special.

I followed this exact Technote from Adobe: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_16648

I have attached two zip files for this example, one that has the javascript popup menus located in the same menu frame as if I just setup all the scripting. (AD-javascriptfilesinsameframe)

The second file is the file where I edited the javascript using the Adobe link I mentioned above.(AD-javascriptfilesindifferentframe)

Take a look and tell me what you think.

Thanks a million for any help thus far!
