Layer display problem on IE – PC

Hey All,
Up sh!ts creek without a paddle at the moment. I’ve built a photography website and am having layer problems. The site works on all browsers on Macs, but not on explorer on PCs.

When the user rolls over a thumbnail a smaller image appears to the right in 1 layer. When the user clicks the thumbnail a larger image is meant to appear to the right of the screen in another layer. On PC in IE when clicked nothing happens 😡

If any one could help I would greatly appreciate it!!! ? ? ?

Without a valid !doctype statement at the very top of your code (before "<html>"), you throw IE into "quirks mode". Basically, -it throws the rulebook out the window and it guesses...

Paste this:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"
at the top of your doucment.

While "strict" is best, and "transitional" is possibly preferred, most common and easiest to appease. Also, -nice image presentation. ? -Remindes me of that thing they have at chipotle.com.

Noted that, when running Firefox in IE-mode and onClick of any of those little gray boxes of course nothing happens, but the text javascript:; appears on the toolbar... I don't know alot about javascript, but that ...looks funny somehow... a " : " immediately followed by a " ; " I mean... -Is this right? Someone more skilled with *js might offer some better insight here. But do the !doctype thing first...

@Red_eyeauthorMay 22.2006 — Thanx for the reply man,

but unfortunately it wasn't the answer. I played around a bit and for some reason when I tell the browser to preload the images, the tnail works in launching the pic ( tnail 1,2, & 3). But this is not practical as it would take ages to preload all the images

If you or any one else has any answers, I would likey alot.

Cheers

Page with tnails 123 working, rest not!
