Can javascript check Java vendor&version?

I have seen many example javascripts which explain how to get the clients:
browser=navigator.appName;
browserVersion=navigator.appVersion;

Can javascript get the supported Java Vendor and Version as well, if so how?

I am looking for the equivalent of what a Java Applet would return with the following code:

java_version = System.getProperty (“java.version”);
java_vendor = System.getProperty (“java.vendor”);

Thanks!

@phpnoviceMay 16.2006 — In IE, at least, you would probably first have to have a Java Applet loaded, and (for sure) those properties would have to be exposed by the loaded Java Applet, in order for JavaScript to be able to get them. Some other browsers may not first require that a Java Applet to be loaded. However, I cannot speak to that because I cannot find much, if any, good documentation for other browsers -- programmatically speaking.
