close window w/o display of confirmation

i do not want the confirmation box which display on window.close to appear.
the window should close without asking the user onEvent. is there a way to do so ? would appreciate any help…

@felgallMay 02.2006 — You can close any window you like without getting the confirmation message PROVIDED THAT YOU OPENED IT. If someone else opened it then any attempt by you to close it will produce a confirmation box asking for confirmation in browsers that like to be annoying and will just be complely ignored by less annoying browsers. Only the werb page that opened a window can close it without the permission of the person whose computer it is running on.
