website not recognised

? can nebody tell me wats wrong with my site [url]www.gifts2grab.com[/url] as google has not recognised the url also,,,its 3 months my site is up now..
have heard tha google takes around 6 months to recognise a website but one of my friends website was recognised in few weeks…can nebody pls help me on this..mine is a ecommerce website …i need to b recongnised asap ?

Google does not like Brand new sites... It's harsh because you may have the best infomation on a subject on the net and it hardly matters unless you can get beyond this issue called "SANDBOXING", which may be effecting your site.

I also highly suggest checking in Yahoo, MSN and ASK as they seem to be a Lot more agressive when indexing sites lately.

Another option would be to spend some cash and do adwords.

6 Months to get in Google are you having a laugh?

I have had a site indexed in 3 days and know people who have had there site indexed within 24 hours.

Backlinks, backlinks backlinks.

Directorys are easy and free links but you wanna work at finding other good quality relevant sites to exchange link with you too if you can do a 3way exchange even better.

Also get your title, description and keywords to be inline with the content of the page.

Use header tags for keywords and link text too only where possiable though dont over do it as this is classed as spam by seach engines and you will get banned.

You have to be careful doing any SEO works cos if you use bad techniques you can get banned.

@felgallApr 28.2006 — Google will index a site within a couple of days BUT often after it has been in the index for a day or two it then gets SANDBOXED for up to six months before it will return to its original position in the index. At least that is what a large number of people claim to be experiencing. If you aren't having that happen to your brand new sites then you are really lucky (perhaps you are buying preused domain names that are already listed) or the people who think Google uses sandboxing are wrong and their site is listed but they just haven't gone to page 12422593 of the results on their search term to see their listing.

How often do most people create a brand new site? Once a site is indexed, new pages added to that site can be indexed in minutes. It is only getting the original listing that can take time.
