However, if you do want to use tables for layout (or for that matter for tabular material) and want more control over the borders, you can use CSS to help out:

Clean and Solid Borders
I am trying to duplicate an affect I saw on a friend’s page, specifically this page [URL]http://www.studio-maki.com
When you look at the boxes, like the main one encompasing the entire content, or the ones that are around the specific page elements, they have nice clean borders.
I tried to duplicate this with a table border command but it leaves that grey border on the top and left, only giving the black border on teh bottom and right of the page.
I’ve poked through all the table tutorials and such that I could find and couldn’t find an answer. I code from scratch and also in Adobe GoLive CS so advice for either would be very helpful.
