filename creator and counter

During my day at the pc, i create about 100 different files. They are organised by date (DDMM) initials and a running number. for example first file today: 2304dath-01

I need a window where i can input the initials and a butten that says NEW. So next time i press new, the filename would be 2304dath-02. And if it can remember what number it has reached to during this day, if I had to reset my computer – or closed the window by accident.

@gphApr 23.2006 — You need to use the getDate(), getMonth() for the date. You can use a cookie to retain the running number.

This sounds like a a good job for an hta. Are you using Windows? What type of files are you creating? And do you have permission to install applications on the computer?
