Abyss Web Server- help

Hello and sorry if this is the wrong thread but it seems appropriate to me ?

If you know of this server then you may help. First I had Apache server but it was having troubles after half a year use so I tried this Abyss one…

Quick brief:
The page will not display when I set the Document Path to a PHP website folder. A simple text file is showing “No input file specified” instead.
Funny thing is, It only works with an HTML website folder….

Detailed:
Everything is working fine and I have added php support to it as how it is described in the Help file. It is working fine when the Document path is in the root folder where I have all of my websites in each folder.

ex.
c:Websites is the Document Path and under there I have new folders for each website. I could name one example “mysite”

so I type in “localhost/mysite/” in the webbrowser and it shows up as it should. The problem comes when I want “mysite” to be the Document Path so it will be enough for me to just type “localhost/.
When I do so, an error displays in plain text “No input file specified”. Even when I have an index.php file. It happens the same when browsing to a subfolder with an index.php file.

When I set the Document Path to one of my simple HTML website, let´s call it “freeweb”, and type in only “localhost” then it works. So I assume there is something with the php files it won´t recognize.

The reason:
In case you wonder why I want to set the Document Path to a website folder when I have more than one, is just that I want my adress paths to be exactly the same whether I preview my site localy or when I upload it….
an example like the path to my images in the “image” folder. I want it to be only “/image/ and not “../image/”… if you know what I mean.

… or is there another way to simplify this? So that I won´t have to change the Document Path whenever I am developing my php site

@netbuddyApr 20.2006 — You need to set up virtual paths.

You will need to tell Abyss where the CGI interpreter resides.

You will need to edit the default extention that the Abyss uses.

You will do better going to the http://www.aprelium.com/forum/ and reading up on the tutorials on offer.

@SiddanauthorApr 21.2006 — ahh, virtual paths, I knew there was something with that, but didn´t know how so I thought about it no more.

hmm cgi interpreter, I don´t think I have any cgi to interpret. Ok but thanks, I´ll check that tutorial and ask there in the forum if needed
