@felgallApr 17.2006 — #The most that you can use Javascript for with file uploads is to validate the format of the filename entered in the file field in a form. Everything else (such as checking what type of file it is) needs to be done on the server.
Javascript can't access anything outside of the web page and so can't access files on the client computer and server side processing can only access files after they are uploaded. The upload part needs to be done via a file field in a form.
