2 Column blog with problems in margins (IE)

Well I’ve managed to get me developed a nice little skin for wordpress for a company I work for.

See here:

I realize the content section is still a bit ugly, but this is largely due to the fact that IE displays the site incredibly different than firefox does. In firefox everything lines up properly and looks OK. In IE it seems to be interpretting the margin-left:50px; value incredibly harshly and it’s pushing everything way over. I’ve of course played with the value, but it then makes it looks bad in firefox. Perhaps I’m just not aware of something.

Any suggestions? Ideas? On how to fix this. I’m at my wits end.
