using layers in fpdf

Has anyone with any experience of using fpdf used layers in the construction. I have a very complicated form that has been created using layers and Im wondering if its possible to replicate this form into a pdf file. I have tried downloading the pdf995 generator but ignores the layers in the creation i.e. ignores the z-index. If anyone has any examples i would be most grateful for any advice.
