IFRAME display in IE vs. Firefox

I have this project where the client is supplying the HTML, CSS, and JavaScripts. My job is to import it into our system. Well, because we split up various elements on the page into sections (header, gutter, body, footer, etc…), I have to chop up the client’s code.

Part of what they’ve provided needs to be put in a certain section of our site so that some dynamic, back-end JSP logic can execute and return results.

Since I’m not supposed to edit their code other than putting it in its component parts and one section of their code needs to go in a very specific place, I’ve resorted to putting it all in an iFRAME and calling it directly into the page.

The problem rises from the fact that even though I’ve put all the CSS, JS, and other files into the file being pulled in by the iFRAME, it’s still not displaying correctly in IE (as it does when the whole page is simply viewed as one file). It comes closest in Firefox and actually lays out in the general, correct regions.

My question is this: are there differences in rendering the contents of an iFRAME as well as the position of the iFRAME itself, between IE and Firefox that could explain this? I’ve found very little via Google that directly addresses this situation.

Yours,
Sylvan
