Date capture

I know how to use JS to DISPLAY a current date format but what I want is to capture that date within a form so that I have a dated record of the message sent. Any ideas?

Yes, thanks, I know that e-mail produces its own date-stamp. But, what I wanted, along with other input fields from the form output is a data field which can be incorporated into a database, for example:

Title=

Surname=

Date= ...etc
