@bokehApr 12.2006 — #read this page and you wil know why i need it ??
Or are you trying to hide all the excellent code you have downloaded from WebDeveloper?
By the way are you saying your code is good enough to sell?
Joking aside, there is no way I would run a piece of PHP code on my server if I couldn't read it first.
@nooor83authorApr 12.2006 — #nowway..im not hiding the code im taking from here..if i want to the code,,i have to hide all my posts..what do u think..
and another point..what i have noticed in this forum or anyother forum is that the answer to all the posts would be 90% guide lines not CODE..
i'll put in the sitiuation..
what if you are selling a product to a customer..especially a php product..what esures that he wouldn't distributed right away,,,or give it to a friend of his...
that's the only reason i was asking about the php encryption..
if you have better idea than the evil (code encryption) then please let me know..
@bokehApr 12.2006 — #what if you are selling a product to a customer
I've never liked what if questions! The possiblities are endless. Personally I believe in open source.i have noticed in this forum or anyother forum is that the answer to all the posts would be 90% guide lines not CODE..
Not when I answer.what esures that he wouldn't distributed right away,,,or give it to a friend of his...
Nothing! But encrypting your code certainly would not protect against this. It is called software piracy and occures even more frequently with compiled code which is completely unreadable.

thanx anyway..
Noor
Well, that's the risk of using interpreted technologies..
Anyway, there are very slim chances that your clients friend would buy your software anyway
if your code is encoded, it can be decoded
why does everyone want to encode everything lately ?! (talking about PHP)
I don't think that commercial software such as vB are encoded, are they?
@bokehApr 12.2006 — #Well, that's the risk of using interpreted technologies.
CDs and DVDs are not written in ASCII code yet they are the most pirated technologies of all. Being a non-interpreted (i.e. compiled) technology does not protect the software from piracy.

@bokehApr 12.2006 — #it canbe decoded back ?? try decoding the www.jpowered.com 3d graphs and send it to me please..lol
the make you download the php file and you get choked whn you look at the code..
take alook at the site...
So what! It doesn't stop you giving the code to your friend does it. The only reason I can think of for doing this is that the code is either badly written, contains spyware or is stolen.
@LiLcRaZyFuZzYApr 12.2006 — #if you want parts of your software to be kept secret and not modified you might want to buy/rent a server with high reliability and place the files on it and then in the code require them from that server
This will probably cost you much more then a client giving it to a friend
@felgallApr 12.2006 — #Encrypting your code wouldn't stop those people who buy it from you from giving copies to their friends. What it would do would be to make it much more difficult for them to make changes to the code which would mean that proving that a stolen copy of your code is actually your code would be easier.

Yea, make the code so badly written that nobody can figure out how it works.
Like my first few scripts =)
I think the best way to protect youre code would be with copyright.
Like alot above here have already said, there is no way you can make sure people wont give away youre code.
But with copyright atleast u can sui them when they do ?
