Dilemma over choosing css or tables

i recently started redesigning my website and have made my header in photoshop and sliced it in that also… now on saving the html and images it automatically puts the images into a table… i’m just wondering, would i be best to leave it as is or should i put it together using css?

thnx

@LJKApr 09.2006 — Hi -

When using css instead of slice n' diced tables, you need

to export your images a bit differently. Use the layers to

make some visibile then save for web - that way you've got

control over the different aspects of your header images & the

file types needed to display/optimize them.

Like: one .jpg for a bkgnd. texture of the header area, a .gif of

some decorative element w/ transparency, a .png for decor w/

gradients, etc. Then reassemble using css - bkgnd. images mostly,

but some might need to be in the .html directly - and try to avoid

doing text as an image!

Good luck,
