help to write a simple funcion

Hi,

I am not a javascript expert but I have write some function. Can some one help me to write the following functions, gotoFirstError(), if there will be error in any field than at the time of submitting the page will scroll to the first error instead of going to next page.
Also how can I write a function to remove any text in red from a text field at the time of submit like delRedText().
Any help will be much appreciated.
