Hi everyone,
I’ve been going through the forum to find this topic more specifically to my situation, and don’t know if I’ve found the answer. So, alas, I perhaps am re-asking the same question.
Here’s my site re-design:

Take a look at my code for this frame:

You’ll see that I have a main graphic for each main site ‘category’. Inside this graphic there’s a div and within that div an i-frame for my category specific content.
As you might suspect, this looks just peachy in 1024. But 1280 and what not, it of course gets screwy. My apologies to the 800×600 folk, but I’m anticipating that this is just simply less the norm.
I’m not that familiar with layers (div), and styles and this is really my first foray. I realize it’s the absolute positioning that is doing me in; the problem is I’m not sure how to rectify this.
If the “image” resides in the table, and is simply centered, it moves depending on the screen. I’d love the layer to do the same. I tried to create a ‘parent div’ with relative positioning but that didn’t seem to work either.
A note about my site’s intent: I specifically intended not to design a lowest common denominator site because of my want to showcase my artistic side (and I DEFINITELY didn’t want to go the flash route). I realize as well this comes with limitations. I just want (and hope) to know if this particular issue is doable.
So, apart from doing a site page for each resolution, or (as many seem to shudder) re-size the browser using some js hooey, any thoughts?
Thanks so much, I very much appreciate your help…!
