My boss insists that on a new website I’m creating (I’m redoing www.avenueofflags.org) we must have text instead of an image logo. That, he says, is the BEST way for our site to reach the top of the Google search engine. Is this correct, and if so, do you have any suggestions on creating a nice looking logo and still have plain text at the top of the page?
@JPnycNov 17.2009 — #well you can include an alt tag, but every website I'm aware of has an image header, and they don't seem to have problems ranking. The first thing a bot crawls is the page title however so be sure it's descriptive without being overstuffed with keywords. You will be penalized if you overstuff it
@NikkiDauthorNov 18.2009 — #Thank you very much for your advice. Any more advice on keeping your page ranking up there would be greatly appreciated. (I'm new at this)
