when you perform a search in Google for a type of business have you noticed the first results under the sponsored links is “Local business results for removals new …..” and then it give shows a map and a list of businesses. How do you get listed in this section?
@ThehitmanAug 20.2009 — #I understand it's somewhat related to the posting of your physical address on your main index page. Some to do with how well your overall SEO on your page is too. But I've noticed that sites that rank #1 in the organic search don't usually rank #1 in the local business results.
Oh, and make sure you register in the Google Business section under maps or local placement (not sure what it's called).
Yes, have your business listed in Local Business Center of Google database is useful to drive traffic from your local geographic area to your business site.
I am running an India based company and got my business already registered in Google Local Business center but after listed my site in there my site is receiving 70% of traffic from India only which I don't want as I am primarily targeting UK and US.
So, I have a question about what if you are targeting international visitors will it be good to have a listing on Local business center? Will Google Localize your site for your geographic area if you list your business in Local Business center?
Please reply if some one can has solid answer this.
