Hi, I am basically a Microsoft developer using Visual Studio and would like to learn HTML5 development. Could someone please guide me to the right direction?
@jedaisoulJun 10.2015 — #Hi and welcome to the site. HTML5 development is a bit of a misnomer, 'cos HTML5 is not much different from HTML4, except for:
- A number of tags that add no functionality (in a misguided attempt at making HTML semantic).
- The relaxation of some of the syntax rules (which simply encourages sloppy coding). ?
Both are optional, and (in my opinion) best ignored. It is CSS3 that has most of the useful new functionality. I won't go into it in detail, I'd just warn you to be aware that:
- Not all of the new functionality is supported by current browsers.
- Some of the new functionality uses vendor-specific syntax.
- Much of the new functionality does not degrade gracefully on legacy browsers. ?
But don't be put off. These issues will be resolved in time, and there is plenty of functionality in CSS3 (e.g. media queries) that:

If you want to learn HTML then you can visit w3schools website, it has the best tutorials.
