I’m wondering if having 404 errors affects the SEO for a site? I recently changed some directories on http://themebot.com/ and the old pages which weren’t ranked well anways do of course show up as not found in google web masters tools. Will these temporary 404 errors affect pagerank for the site or cause a penalty?
@GreatDomainRaceJul 11.2007 — #You can always do a 301 redirect with an .htaccess file to tell the search engines where to fine the new information. That is the way they suggest.
Thank you,
