How do you avoid the IE security message?

I’m adding JavaScript to some of my web pages, but when I try opening them with Microsoft’s Internet Explorer, a message pops up saying,

“To help protect your security, your web browser has restricted this form from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for options…”

I used code from another web site. That message doesn’t show up on the other web site’s page. I even created a new page by copying and pasting the entire html code from the other page so it’s identical to the other page, but the IE message bar still pops up on my page, but not the other site’s. What’s the reason for that?

@QuestionGuyauthorJan 23.2005 — Thanks. Your explanation on the other thread makes sense that running the script locally causes the problem. When I uploaded it to the server, it no longer generated the error message.

@ScriptNoobie86Jan 23.2005 — i figured as much. I used to make malicious vbscripts lol

locally, the securityt is set lower so you can run them easier so i assumed they changed that ?
