Anything could be done in a better or simpler way?

I have been playing with themes for some time. And have found one solution that works both on HTML and SVG icons.
This JS Fiddle covers the most, but not stored in localStorage to be persistent.

My question is if I have missed something och anything could be done in a better or simpler way?
