How could I get these to match in a search

I’m trying to join two tables on a name search.

On one table I have F.Tree on a second I have Fern Tree

As far as I can see this is the only issue / exception I have , all others match but down the track there could be more. Likely best way would be first letter and second word as a full match??

Not sure how to do this in MySQL or if i can be done.

There's a second filter which limits the options. Essentially I want to find the closest match and it'll be more than likely the correct match
