Help needed,

I am new at creating websites etc, I am looking to create my own website as a side project, designing it is no problem but i want to have it so members can join up to it, have there own referral links too, would also like to have an admin panel so i can oversee the performance of everyone.

Is this way over complicated for someone like me? can it be done?

Any help / links would be appreciated.

Thanks

Steve

I don't have any experience, I have my own business and now in need of this website, I was hoping to do some reading up on it and give it a go myself, is it not possible to do if not experienced?

@rootOct 20.2017 — If you get a CMS to run your site, you can use a plug-in to create a members area, each CMS is different, so you will need to try a few.

@NogDogOct 20.2017 — As alluded to above, if you have no coding knowledge/experience (and it's more than just some HTML and a bit of CSS and JavaScript -- you're going to need a bunch of server-side stuff, too), then you're probably better off find a CMS that provides the functionality you need, perhaps with some 3rd-party plug-ins for special features. Your most likely candidates are WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal, but they are far from being the only options: see www.opensourcecms.com for a bunch of others.

Well, it's actually the same as reading some articles and then manufacturing a car from scratch when you have 0 experience in automotive ? Hope that makes sense...

@direct_destinatOct 24.2017 — If you are really new and do not want to get into programming heavily, I would suggest using some CMS like WP (Wordpress). It is mainly focused on blogging, but with right plugins you can make almost everything with it. Will get you an idea of basic web development as well in a process.
