I finally got FireFox working on my computer. It is the best. A cross between Netscape and IE.

Netscape is cluttered, but FireFox is not, even though they have the same capabilities.

FireFox has themes just like netscape. YOu can asl install extensions that allow you to improve the functionality of it.

I suggest you all try it out.

I wouldn't say all Window users do, but a very large percentage do.

IE?!?! What the hell does it have in common with IE?!?! IE is the devil. Firefox is God (as far as browsers go). There is nothing similar between them.

@neenach2002authorMay 17.2004 — I was saying it has a similar interface, that is non-cluttered, and that IE users would not have much trouble switching over. Netscape has a very cluttered toolbar. FF doesn't.

@rpassmoreMay 17.2004 — DanieLTomaS-

the interface is customizable, like IE, (although even more so). But navigator isn't customizable, which is a reason a lot of people used IE instead of navigator. such as myself.

If I recall correctly, our friend Spufi likes Opera. ?

I agree with him, Opera is a great browser, it has all kinds of options and things that I don't have in Mozilla, yet at the same time Mozilla (FireFox, of course) is my default browser and the one I like the most. Why, well, I'm not sure - Opera even looks cooler! What with those shiny buttons and all. ?

Opera has different skins/colors that you can use, though the default looks proably the best. Mozilla also has XUL options - I've set the padding to my menus about five pixels and colored them and a lot of other things -- I like the cool blues and light grays with a tint of blue to them more than just the standard grays. Reminds me of IE too much... ~Shudders~

Anyway, congartutargulations (happy, Paul? :rolleyes: ), Neenach. ?

For those of you who aren't as fast as Jona, I posted something about using Navigator and needing to see a doctor. ?

Edit (since I can't reply 'cause then we'd be off-topic again :p). No hard feelings, Dan, we all make mistakes -- look at my signature. "Mistake" is what defines a programmer, but it's also what refines him. That's not to say that web developers have no life and are born mistakes (or "living accidents" as we sometimes say), but the mistakes they make are what cause them to become who (or "what" in some people's cases) they are.

GRRR!! How many times have you done that to me?! Gee, maybe I should do a couple hours worth of research on a specific thread before posting a reply. I could draw up charts, map data, and calculate pi to the 300th digit. That way I'd never be wrong. CUZ JONA'S PROVEN ME WRONG SO MANY FREAKIN' TIMES!!! :mad: :mad: :mad:

I gotta more accurate phrase for your siggy:

Mistake is what defines, yet refines a programmer(Unless of course that programmer is Daniel, in which case, mistakes tend to completely redefine the refining of the programmer)

WHOA! Did they just change the default font family for the forums? Everything looks so different... I don't like it ? (though, it may very well be my 2:30 AM Eyes playing tricks on me)

@neenach2002authorMay 17.2004 — I am on IE yet again, because I am here at my gay HS and they don't let you download things. All they have is IE....:rolleyes:

I have tried all of the browsers except for Safari/Camino for Mac, because I don't own a Mac...

FireFox is definately my favorite. Hopefully, if I code to the liking of FireFox, my IE using friends (donkey's, for using IE) will be happy with my site as well. FireFox...is....SEXY....RAWR!

Linkin' Park....I'm listening to them right now. I have the special version of Meteora that came with a DVD....there was a song called "The Wizard" on their SECOND album, but they scrapped the whole album because they knew it wouldn't sell. Then they did Meteora....pure awesomeness...:p

That shouldn't even be legal!!! Our school has IE and Netscape, so I use Netscape.

Dan,

I was referring to the browser, not the person...?

You are right, it shouldn't be legal.

And fix your sig....it's "their" not "there."...?

Edit:

They ALLOW ANY downloads....just for clarification...?

You used to use Opera as your default browser, though, right? Or was that someone else that had a similar name?

<off-topic>

By the way, neenach2002, it's not Linkin' park. "Linkin" is a misspelling of "Lincoln." Since the domain name www.lincolnpark.com was already taken, they decided to use the name Linkin Park.

@neenach2002authorMay 17.2004 — Finally, I am back on my favorite browser (FireFox) with my favorite theme (Noia). I am about to go download a few extensions. Deepest sender and mouse movements whatever it's called.

It is out of habit that I spell it "Linkin'"...maybe because my brain thinks I'm trying to say "Linking" without the "g" on the end. I shall try to remember that...as they are my favorite band...:p

I was also referring to the browser. Firefox is a male application. That fox is definitely male :p

@Steven_R__SmithMay 23.2004 — I tried Firefox after reading this thread and nad to sign up to post to tell you guys there is an even better version of Firefox. It seems several independent developers are making versions of Firefox that are 'tuned' for speed and stability - beyond the official builds. My favorites are the ones built by MOOX. You can find all of her builds here: http://moox.ws/tech/mozilla

Schweeet! ? I gotta wonder, is she as hot as her builds?

@MstrBobMay 24.2004 — I personally use Mozilla as my default. But I also have Firefox on me computer, yet I'm not sure why if they're supposed to be the same browser. Maybe it's my system, but Firefox seems to be slower than Mozilla (but it may just be me). Opera, however, I'm not that fond of. Having to buy it is not cool, and the ads with the free version are annoying. Though, I reall must say that radio and submit buttons look a LOT cooler in Opera, IMO.
