What is the simplest way to undo a recent local commit in Git?

This one has been tough to commit to memory (ha, get it?) and I often find multiple answers when searching online. What should be my go-to method?

@sayzlimAug 05.2022 — The following command will reset the recent commit while keeping the changes you've made. You can update the argument form soft to --hard if you're certain that you're not going to keep the changes.

git reset HEAD~ --soft
×

Success!
